• Commissioner Malcolm reported 84,949 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19. This is an increase of 643 cases since yesterday’s report.
• There were 17,152 COVID-19 tests reported to the state yesterday.
• An additional three Minnesotans died due to COVID-19. This brings the state’s total number of COVID-19 deaths to 1,922.
• Currently, 233 patients are hospitalized for COVID-19 with 135 of those in the ICU.
• Hospitalizations decreased by eight.
• ICU bed used decreased by one.
• The seven-day COVID-19 test positivity average is 4.9%. This is down from 5.6% the week prior.
• Commissioner Malcolm expressed concern at the sustained high level of COVID-19 case growth. While she’s grateful the growth has not become exponential, the commissioner called for continued vigilance among Minnesotans to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

• Director Ehresmann emphasized that an important tool for fighting COVID-19 in schools and childcare settings is staying home when sick and staying home when waiting for test results.
• With school resuming, all parents and families need to take this guidance seriously.
• Community transmission, where the origin of infection is unknown, is over 34% in Minnesota.
• The Minnesota Department of Health has released a decision tree exclusion guide for schools and those in youth or childcare programs regarding whether students should go to school or stay home.
